Five Types of Membership top
There are five categories of NCALA membership:
- Provider members include assisted living communities where frail elder residents receive help with their activities of daily living (please see the About Assisted Living section of this Web site for more information). This category includes continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) and other providers with licensed assisted living beds. Providers can apply for membership using the Provider Membership Application form. (Not included in this category are Multi-unit Assisted Housing with Services [MAHS] and Independent Living [IL] communities [see below].)
- MAHS/IL members include congregate housing serving the 55-plus population and any other provider whose building does not fit into another license category. MAHS/IL providers can apply for membership using the MAHS/IL Membership Application form.
- Partner members include companies that provide appropriate services and/or supplies to the assisted living industry. Partner Membership dues include a booth at the annual NCALA Fall Conference & Trade Show. Partners can apply for membership using the Partner Membership Application form.
- Regional Partner members include companies that provide appropriate services and/or supplies to the assisted living industry, but who only do business in a part of the state (see this map for definitions of regions), and who do not want to exhibit at the annual NCALA Fall Conference & Trade Show. Regional Partners can apply for membership using the Regional Partner Membership Application form.
- Individual members are people with special interest in assisted living—for example students, retirees, or families—who want to receive information distributed by the NCALA office regarding the assisted living industry in North Carolina. These members may also attend NCALA-provided training at the member rate. Individuals can apply for membership using the Individual Membership Application form.
Please complete the appropriate form (above) and fax the completed form to NCALA at (919) 467-5132.
